    When is the Kentucky Derby?

The Kentucky Derby is traditionally held on the First Saturday in May, and that won't change this year. The 139th "Run for the Roses" will be held under the Twin Spires of Louisville, Kentucky's Churchill Downs on Saturday, May 4th.

What time is the 2013 Kentucky Derby?

A full field of twenty three-year-olds will break from the gate at approximately 6:24 p.m. EDT in the eleventh race of a thirteen race Derby Day card. The first post of the day will be at 10:30 a.m. EDT.

NBC Sports Network will broadcast the undercard from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. with the Derby broadcast from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on NBC.

Stay tuned to Louisville.com for comprehensive coverage of the horses, the pageantry, the parties and the fun.

    Happy Derby!
