Welcome, to the First edition of "Weekly Sports Mailbag,". Every Monday of every week, I will answer a few questions that you have submitted to me, via email and twitter. This week, we are just going to answer two. Shall we begin?

Jacob Murphy (Highlands): Have you been to Knights Hall for a BU game? Can we talk about those passionate BU fans?

First and Foremost, Jacob, thank you for the link to this video, It was entertaining to say the least. To answer your question, I have not been to a Bellarmine Knights game this year- however I have in the past. Knights Hall, is always a great place to watch a basketball game and the fans are a big part of that. Scotty Davenport, has done a great job energizing that fan base. He has also done a great job with scheduling games- making sure the Knights are the main college basketball attraction in the state that night. I encourage everyone to head out to Knights Hall to catch a game. They finished the season with a #1 ranking and a sparking 23-1 record. I believe that they may even host the D-II Regionals at their gym. They've won back-to-back titles, and are in prime position to win another one this year. If Davenport can continue his success, it would not surprise me to see him coaching a D-I school soon.

The state of basketball in the Commonwealth is truly amazing right now (graphic is a bit out-of-date)

Thomas Floyd (Lexington, KY): Is Kentucky the best team in college basketball?

It's tough to say that Kentucky is the best team in college basketball, however they are the most talented.

Right now, it's no secret that the #1 Kentucky Wildcats are playing the best basketball. Anthony Davis is the Player of the Year (at least in my book) and Kentucky is blowing out their SEC Opponents. However, I do think their are some glaring weaknesses for this Kentucky team. They haven't had to play an extended time without Davis or Kidd-Gilchrist in the line-up, and I think their depth- specifically at the 5 spot- is troubling. I would venture to say that Syracuse is this best team in the country, only because of their depth. Syracuse can go 8 or 9 deep and not miss a beat, the same can not be said for Kentucky. If Anthony Davis, gets in foul trouble in the tourney, against a formidable opponent-I do not expect Vargas to be able to fill the void. With all this being said, I would take Kentucky's starting 5 over any in the country, as they are the best in the nation. Will they win the tourney? Only time will tell.

Join me next Monday, as we will look to answer more questions from you guys.

    About Chris Hatfield

I'm just a college kid from a small town in Kentucky, called Bardstown. I've watched Louisville Sports since I've said my 1st word and can probably tell you anything you want to know about them. Parents split and my Dad moved to Louisville when I was 10, instantly I was capitivated. Alas, the rest is history and here I am. In 20 years of living, I've been called alot of things, feel free to call me a writer- I'd like that.
