    Print this page

Whether you live here or you’re visiting from out of town, this weekend itinerary will keep you busy without leaving the comfort of the city!

    Friday afternoon:

-Check out the Bulleit Experience at Stitzel-Weller in Shively.  This is the former base of operations for Pappy Van Winkle, who was an actual person who owned a bourbon company.  It’s now the home of Bullet, I.W. Harper, Blade and Bow, and The Orphan Barrel Project.  Don’t forget to pick up a Kentucky Bourbon Trail Passport and get it stamped!

-Have dinner at Down One Bourbon Bar. Try the Three Little Pigs sandwich and a bourbon flight.  Don’t forget to pick up an Urban Bourbon Trail Passport and get it stamped!

    Saturday:

-Start off with brunch at The Silver Dollar.  It’s totally okay to have a Kentucky Mule with your Chili Cheese Hashbrown.  Get your Urban Bourbon Trail Passport stamped.

-Stop by the new Bourbon Barrel Foods retail store on Frankfort Avenue for some bourbon barrel smoked sugar and sea salt, as well as barrel aged bitters and many other amazing goodies.

-Check out the Speakeasy Tour of the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience, which is only offered on the weekends. Get your Kentucky Bourbon Trail Passport stamped.

-Head over to Art Eatables on 4th Street to pick up the only Bourbon Truffles made by a Stave and Thief Certified Chocolatier!

-Stop by the Louisville Visitor’s Center to pick up oodles of bourbon merch.

-Have dinner at Bourbons Bistro on Frankfort Avenue.  This is the original bourbon themed restaurant in Louisville, opened in 2005.  Get your Urban Bourbon Trail Passport stamped.

    Sunday:

-Head out to the Village Anchor in Anchorage for brunch starting at 10:30.  Get your Urban Bourbon Trail Passport stamped.

-Stop by Cox’s Smoker’s Outlet or Liquor Barn in Middletown to pick up a bottle or two of bourbon.

-Take a tour of the newly resurrected Kentucky Peerless Distillery on 10th Street in Louisville, right around the corner from Museum Row.

Even if you complete this entire weekend, there is still plenty of bourbon tourism stuff to do in Louisville any time!  Know of any fun events around town?  Tweet them to me @LouGirl502!
