Racial tensions and color lines surround an Alabama trial in the Walden Theatre production of To Kill a Mockingbird, which begins tomorrow.
To Kill a Mockingbird will occur Jan. 21, 22, 26, 27, 28, and 29 at 7:30 p.m. Matinee shows will go on Jan. 22 and 29 at 2 p.m. All performances of To Kill a Mockingbird will take place at Walden Theatre, located at 1123 Payne Street near the Highlands in Louisville.
Tickets for the evening shows are #15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $10 for students. Matinee shows, meanwhile, are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $8 for students. Tickets can be purchased at the Walden Theatre box office or reserved by calling 502-589-0084.
Those that have reservations for the Jan. 20 show will have their reservations accepted for the shows on Jan. 26 or 27, according to the Walden Theatre Facebook page.
To Kill a Mockingbird find lawyer Atticus Finch defending a black man in a trial that brings about racial tensions in a mid-20th century Alabama town. Christopher Sergel created the play, which was based on Harper Lee's book of the same name. Charlie Sexton directed the production for Walden Theatre.
