After having a morning coffee on Bond Street in New York City, I found myself hailing a cab, running in a cute pair of D&G's, simultaneously Billy Reid is calling my name. I don't know what made me look over but maybe my eye is drawn to all things made of gold. I entirely disregarded the fact that I was already late to my first meeting of the day and chose to take those deep black steps that led to my hometown in the South.

It was the first time I saw a line that brought southern hospitality and fashion together. It was an interesting collection because it was the perfect fusion for a southern girl, it had many plaids and beautiful ruffles. This collection fit like a glove for me and the price was not excessive to doubt the necessity of the southern style.

Often times being from the South you find a designer but elements to their work leave me unsatisfied. The structure and detail could be missing, or their style is something of another minds origin that I can't understand. The sale always falls on the sales staff for me. The staff carried me right to the cash register for my purchase. I was being given a complete bio of William Reid. I enjoy hearing the story of a business that intrigues me and to find out how it evolves. When you are an entrepreneur you empathise with the highs and lows of start-ups. William Reid was the name of his first store in NYC and this second go around decided to make us one of his personal friends to be called Billy Reid. Thank you Billy for not being so surface and giving us permission to call you Billy Reid. Today you can get Billy Reid in Florence, Ala; New York City; Nashville; Dallas; Charlotte; and Houston.
