A month beyond the Irish Fest, the air is still fresh with the musical equivalent of burning peat at Bellarmine University.
The Brock McGuire Band, an acclaimed traditional Irish music quartet, will perform a concert this coming Monday, October 25, 2010 at Bellarmine’s Amy Cralle Theatre at the Wyatt Center for the Arts.
The band, fronted by Paul Brock and Manus McGuire, was named “Instrumental Group of the Year” by LiveIreland.com and Chicago’s
Irish American News
. Brock (button accordion and melodeon), McGuire (fiddle), Enda Scahill (banjo) and Denis Carey (piano) hail from Western Ireland, and have performed all over the world. Brock and Scahill have shared the stage with the Chieftains, and their 2007 album,
Humdinger
, was named Irish Music Album of the Year by
The Irish Times
.
The show is free and open to the public. Music begins at 7:00 p.m.
