
The 7th Region was arguably the most talented region in the state last season. Now that Jeffersontown has gotten transfer Tony Kimbro, the 7th Region will once again feature some the most talented players in the state. Here is a look at the top 10.
1. Tony Kimbro - Jeffersontown
Kimbro averaged 12 points per game last season at prep school. He played for duPont Manual his freshman season but decided to transfer to Christ School in North Carolina, where he has played the last two seasons. He has scholarship offers from Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech.
2. Remy Abell, Eastern
Abell has been one of the top players in the 7th Region since he was a sophomore. He has scholarship offers from Marshall, Morehead State, Wright State, Akron and IUPUI.
3. Deondre McWhorter, Moore
At 6-foot-8, McWhorter has a lot of potential. He had a breakout game against Shawnee last season, when he recorded a triple double, scoring 13 points, pulling down 13 rebounds and blocking 12 shots. Several colleges, including Xavier, have shown interest in the rising star.
4. Lyonell Gaines, Eastern
Gaines averaged nearly 14 points per game.He is a slasher but he can also knock down the open three. Butler and Morehead State have been sending letters.
5. Kevin Shaw, Seneca
Shaw leads a very talented Seneca team. The 6-foot-2 combo guard averaged 12 points per game last season.
6. Arman Marks, Eastern
The 6-foot-2 lefty is one of the top three point shooters in the region.
7. Desmond Dorsey, Jeffersontown
Dorsey continues to improve his game. The 6-foot-3 combo guard has played very good the entire spring.
8. DeVante Parker, Ballard
The University of Louisville football commit is also a standout on the hardwood.
9. Charles Foster, Trinity
Foster averaged 6.7 points per game last season. With Kentucky All Stars Josh Sewell and Tyler Epley gone, Foster's production should increase next season.
10. Kameron Woods, Eastern
Woods continues to improve.
