Come on now Louisville, I know it's been a while since we've talked but you don't want to miss David Byrne and St. Vincent tonight. David Byrne is a spectacular musician and all around marvel, whom I hope you've heard of (was in a little band called Talking Heads), and St. Vincent (who's name is actually Annie Clark) has been a quirky, hard rocking lady of more recent acclaim.
The pairing was a bit of an odd one at first, as they were brought together in NYC with hopes that they may perform a benefit show similar to the one that spawned the ah-mazing double album 'Dark Was the Night'. Their own album, 'Love This Giant', is a funky rip backed with a 8 piece horn section that grooves in Byrne fashion yet has a very unique, clever sound. I honestly expect this evening to be more of a musical education in badassery and I'm just hoping we can do them justice by being eager students. It's not like any of you are working this week anyway!
