Dads like brunch, too. Skip the silly gifts (unless they’re homemade, in which case he will treasure them forever) and take him to fill his belly at one of these delicious Louisville options.

Limestone Restaurant is normally closed on Sundays, but will be open for a Father’s Day brunch from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Its gourmet Southern menu and beautiful décor are crowd pleasers.

The Goose Creek Diner’s Sunday brunch starts and ends with fried green tomatoes for me, but you will find everything from stuffed French toast to mountains of biscuits and gravy. I think $12.99 for adults is a wonderful bargain, but if you come between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., you’ll only be charged $10.99. The brunch goes until 2:00 p.m.

Maker’s Mark Bourbon House and Lounge is offering brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and dinner from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. for Father’s Day. Maker’s Mark will be $4 all day. They also suggest that, if you’re looking for a gift or two for dad, you can stop by and pick up a package with a Maker’s Mark t-shirt and a Maker’s Mark cigar for $35.

Head downtown to the RIVUE Restaurant and Lounge for the Father’s Day prime rib brunch. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a buffet with prime rib, seafood, a waffle and omelet station and much more will be served. The price for adults is $37 and children get in for $17.

A wonderful a la carte brunch menu for Father’s Day at Varanese includes crab cakes with eggs benedict, grilled beef tenderloin and bourbon barrel smoked St. Louis style ribs. Brunch starts at 11:30 a.m., dinner starts at 5:00 p.m., and the restaurant will stay open until 11:00 p.m. for the day’s festivities.

Going out for dinner instead? Anchorage’s Village Anchor is serving its 10-ounce filet dinner with fixings to dad for half price, at just $21 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

    About Kachina Shaw

A transplanted Hawkeye, I've now lived in Louisville longer than any other city. Can't live without: my husband and fur babies, coal-black coffee, peanut M&Ms, sunflowers, monthly vacations, books, walking paths, massage and a big purse.
