The guy with the face paint making his way through the huge crowd Saturday evening was nowhere to be seen Sunday afternoon at Forecastle
Festival. Instead, Frisbee throwers, corn hole tossers, and a guy dressed like
a banana helped make up the colorful crowd on a sunny and hot July day. And while some
beat the heat by going shirtless, there were plenty of others wearing - you guessed
    it - rock band t-shirts.

    Sunday's
sampling included Sonic Youth, Procol Harum, The White Stripes, Nirvana, The
Grateful Dead, Louisville's own Dawn Landes (who played Sunday at Forecastle as
well), Lynyrd Skynyrd Sarah McLachlan, Frank Zappa, Bob
Marley, Bob Dylan (multiple shirts), Spoon, Dead Swans, Alice Cooper, and Bruce
Springsteen and the E Street Band (the only artist, by the way, that I have ever bought more
than one concert t-shirt from, but I digress).

    Oh,
and someone wore a Monkees shirt. Bless him. That had to be arguably the best I
saw at Forecastle this year. No, it was not Micky Dolenz wearing it, either.
