    Sterling Beer is back!
    Print this page

Do you remember Sterling Beer? While I am a little young to remember it, my parents do and are extremely excited to see this Kentucky based and brewed beer (say that three times fast) back. Because I know very little about this beer, I headed to their website to get more info. Here's what I found:

"In its heyday, Sterling Beer was a premium Pilsner beer in the American standard style. It was available in bottles, cans and on draft. Its market area included Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky (very popular in Greater Louisville), Ohio, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and occasionally a few other states. Sterling Beer was brewed continuously from 1863 until the early 2000s when its latest owner, Pittsburgh Brewing Company, stopped making it after the company emerged from bankruptcy. The brand is in limbo and it will probably come back some day."

Obviously there is much more to this story, and if you are a Sterling Beer fan and want to read the full history, where it is now, and how it has changed, head to their website http://www.sterlingbeer.com/

Tonight is the launch party for this fabulous beer. If you are interested in seeing the comeback, head over to DiOrio's Pizza and Pub between 7 and 9. Buy a Sterling and you get to keep the glass! Plus there will be some other cool prizes and giveaways. As of right now, DiOrio's is the first and only place serving Sterling beer!

Check out their website or Facebook page for updates!
