StageOne Family Theatre is kicking off their upcoming season with a special kick-off event this Thursday, September 10. It will be a night filled with sneak peeks of their educational and imaginative theater options, so join the board, staff and artists for this kick-off party. There will be drinks and hors d'oeuvres served as well. The event will be held at Hilliard Lyons, 500 W. Jefferson Street on the 12th floor from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Folks can also learn about the Family Pass option with StageOne as well. A donation of $50 is suggested; all contributions are welcome and Family Passes will be available for purchase that evening. Send an RSVP to Gil Reyes at Greyes@stageone.org.

Additionally, Gordon Biersch is partnering with StageOne Theatre to host a Pints for 1/2 Pints event on Wednesday, September 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This inaugural event benefits the work of StageOne, and Executive Director, Peter Holloway says "Each year, StageOne serves nearly 80,000 children and families. With children from more than 30 counties attending, we have the most diverse audience of any arts group. And thanks to your generosity, thousands of these children experience the arts at zero ticket cost. We are very excited to partner with Gordon Biersch for this event!"

Some of the offerings for this charitable fundraiser, with all proceeds going to StageOne Theatre include $3 pints of the popular Blonde Bock beer and $5 raffle tickets to win a Bottomless Growler and a StageOne Family Theatre Season “Family Pass.” The Family Pass, valued at $520, offers theatre goers the chance to view all season productions at a super discounted rate.

General Manager of Gordon Biersch, Jason Smith says "We are thrilled to partner with StageOne, which uses theatre to educate and inspire the children of our community!”

Last season, StageOne had an amazing year. They premiered "And In This Corner Cassius Clay," began a new program with UofL’s College of Education and brought nearly 75,000 students to the Kentucky Center for the Arts. This season's lineup includes The BFG (Big Friendly Giant), A Year with Frog and Toad, And Then They Came for Me: Remembering the World of Anne Frank, Harold and the Purple Crayon, storytellers, movies and more. StageOne seeks to "inspire children and families by opening the door to imagination, opportunity and empathy. We serve as a gateway to the arts for tens of thousands of children each year, helping them to learn academically and emotionally. StageOne creates innovative relationships with community partners to provide meaningful arts experiences and arts accessibility for all. We believe in every child, and by connecting their minds with their hearts, our entire community will benefit."
