If you live in St. Matthews – or anywhere in Louisville – and the holiday spirit has already got you looking for a way to help others this season, St. Matthews Area Ministries might be a good place to start.
St Matthews Area Ministries is unique in its breadth, stretching across church denominations and secular governing bodies “to unite the resources and people of area congregations to effectively meet community needs.”
Particular to Thanksgiving time, the Ministries team has already collected food and put together Thanksgiving-themed baskets (each including a turkey) for 100+ families in need in the area.
Now to further their cause, the group is presenting a benefit concert featuring a UofL organist with singers and performers at the SMAM building (201 Biltmore Road, 40207) this Sunday at 3pm. While there will be no admission charge to attend the event, an offering will be taken and an anonymous donor has agreed to match up to $1500 in any donations made.
