Kaleidico is one of those bands that doesn't always stand in the forefront of the local music scene. It’s a bit of a shame, since their sound is different and refreshing among all of the music playing in this town every night. The band's mix of indie, pop and electronics give off vibes of a tamer Tame Impala.
Kaleidico has grown from a home recording project to a band that's released two full-length albums, “Free Falling Waltz” (2013) and “Zoetic” (2015). This February saw the release of, “Zoetic B-Sides,” the EP that was recorded between the latter albums. The EP is the “sonic bridge” between the two.
“Listen Closer” is the second track on the EP. The vocals are something to get lost in. The overall feel is drippy, with elements of psychedelic. It’s like a dream state. However, there are hard angles from the back beat that keep you there, listening closer. This is the one that truly connects the EP and Zoetic.
Check out Kaleidico live April 9 at Headliners Music Hall with Seepeoples and Phourist.
