Mobile devices have become a game-changer for many spectators of sporting events around the world. Not only can you capture memorable moments, but also instantly share your emotionally engaged moments with friends, family and the world in a matter of moments.

May 24-29, marks the 72nd Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid, in addition to the first major golf championship to allow spectators to carry and use mobile devices in select areas of the golf course.

The integration of mobile devices to enhance the golf spectators overall experience has been conducted at select PGA Tour events since August of 2010. However, this is the first time a major golf championship has allowed such technology on the course. Before you go, here's a few things you'll need to know.

"The PGA of America recognizes the increased role that mobile devices serve in our daily lives -- almost as if those same devices are our personal caddies," said PGA of America President Allen Wronowski. "We want spectators enjoying the Senior PGA Championship to have the best golf experience possible, and we request that they respect the ground rules for use of mobile devices while following the finest Senior professionals in the game."

Spectators at Valhalla Golf Club may accept or make phone calls in designated areas throughout the golf course, primarily near concession stands. Digital messaging and checking data is allowed on the golf course. The Senior PGA Championship presented by KitchenAid will have designated volunteers to assist spectators in mobile device use. Spectators attempting to use their mobile device for photography will be asked to surrender the device and pick it up at a designated location after they depart the golf course.
