Ah yes…it’s Derby time.  So many things to do and so little time.

What’s your plan for tonight?  Fest-a-Ville with Blues Traveler?  Neutral Milk Hotel at Iroquois Amphitheater?  Schnitzelburg Walk in Germantown?  Louisville Orchestra Block Party on Main Street?  Maybe you’re just planning to keep it low key by hanging out at bars, clubs, and cook outs?

Well if you happen to be doing the Schnitzelburg Walk, make sure to stop by The Cure Lounge where the all-day music festival, Schnitzelburg Rocks will be going on.  The festival founded by Randall Majors is intended to be a day long celebration of the fabulous Louisville scene.  Over the course of the show there will be 10 bands performing, including local favorite Hanoi Jane, Sweatermeat, Hal Dolls, The Might Auroch, and Jack Holliday & The Westerners.

Attendees to the Schnitzelburg Rock will be allowed to come and go as they please and will be encouraged to visit the Schnitzelburg Walk between bands. The cost to attend will be $8, with an early-bird rate of $4 before 8pm. Doors will open at 4 PM and music will begin at 5 PM.

    About Brent Owen

Born and raised in Louisville, I have lived here most of my life (except during a short furlough, when I, lovelorn and naive, followed a girl to Baton Rouge). My roots are here, my family, my friends, and my life are all here. I work primarily as a free-lance writer for a few local and regional publications. I have also written two books (one a memoir, the other a novel) that barring some divine intervention, will probably never see the light of day. I find myself deeply ingrained in the local bar scene, or perhaps better said, I often indulge in the local drinking culture. I love music, movies, comedy, and really just about any other live performance art.
