Autumn is a special time of year full of cool breezes, cozy sweaters and of course, pumpkin-flavored everything. From the extra-sweet Pillsbury pumpkin cookies lining the shelves of grocery stores to the ever-popular Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks, everyone is rushing to get their fix of this favorite fall flavor.

But don’t let the growing PSL craze turn you into a caffeinated zombie of the national flavor franchise. There are plenty of ways to absorb that magical fall pumpkin spice superpower locally!

Just last week, Heine Brothers’ Coffee reintroduced its fall seasonal menu which features an impressively delicious collection of pumpkin specialty beverages. If you love the warm, reminiscent taste of Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice, you’ll definitely love Heine Brothers’ classically sweet Pumpkin Pie Latte.

Besides the company’s coffee truck and University of Louisville café, Heine Brothers’ Coffee has twelve locations throughout Louisville and Jeffersonville. And don’t forget that this local coffee chain also serves warm apple cider from Starlight, Indiana’s Joe Huber Family Farm all autumn long!

And if sweet, warm beverages aren’t really your thing but you still want to get your taste buds tingling with yummy fall goodness, The Bakery at Sullivan University has you covered! This local bakery specializes in some of the city’s most scrumptious desserts all year. And this fall, it’s adding a few extra servings of delicious to its menu.

From now until November 28, The Bakery’s managing chef, Robin Richardson will be serving up irresistible fall flavored treats like adorable pumpkin roulades, original recipe pumpkin pie and mind-blowing caramel apple cheesecake. Single treats are available as well as full-sized cheesecakes and pies. What better way to add a little something sweet to your morning meeting or Thanksgiving dinner!

And what’s a piece of fresh local pumpkin pie without a scoop of ice cream? The Comfy Cow’s fall seasonal flavors are officially ready to be scooped up.

This year, Louisville’s most delicious local ice cream company is celebrating fall with scoops of some classic favorites like the Policeman’s Special, which combines fresh coffee ice cream with bite-sized pieces of donuts from Nord’s Bakery, along with a few rare flavors like Chai Spiced Plum, which is basically a jar of plum jam sprinkled with all the sweetness of chai tea.

Hurry, Louisville, these fall specials won’t last long!
