Proof on Main’s recipe for February’s Celebrity Bartending Event mixes one part Maker’s Mark president Bill Samuels, Jr. and one part Fox in the Morning anchor Barry Bernson to benefit the Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS). On Sunday, February 22 at 5:30 p.m., the two local celebrities will be slinging drinks behind the bar at Proof, and until 7:30 p.m., all tips and a portion of the bar proceeds will go to benefit VIPS. For an added incentive, Maker’s Mark has generously agreed to match Proof’s donation for the evening.

Bill Samuels, Jr., president of Maker’s Mark, is carrying on the family tradition at the oldest operating bourbon distillery in the world. The Maker’s Mark distillery was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1980, and was the first distillery in America to be recognized as a national treasure.

As anchor of the morning show on Fox 41, Barry Bernson reports on news and events in Louisville and surrounding areas. He was recently recognized with the Silver Circle Award from the Ohio Valley chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS) is a Kentucky agency that works to help blind or visually impaired infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and their families through the early years of life. VIPS works to show children how to use their remaining vision and other senses to learn about the world and to build the self-esteem that will be so necessary for the progress throughout life.
