    University of Louisville and University of Kentucky fans won't have far to travel to watch their teams open play in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

    The Cards, seeded fourth, take on Louisiana-LaFayette Saturday in a first-round game in Nashville, while the Wildcats, a number two seed, play Eastern Kentucky Thursday in Indianapolis.

    The EKU Colonels are making their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1979.

    Indiana, which did not win its conference tournament, failed to get an at-large bid this year.

    In the women's tournament, ninth-seeded U of L will take on Southern California in opening round play Saturday in Minneapolis.

    Eastern Kentucky, seeded 12th, opens play Saturday against Arizona State in Fresno, California.
