As the official after party to Idea Festival, NuLu Fest has long been bringing people to NuLu to enjoy one of Louisville’s quickly emerging neighborhoods.

This year’s festival, its sixth, expects to be just as successful as the rest and that’s saying a lot as last year’s edition attracted 15,000 people.

At NuLu Fest you will find belly dancers, a family fun corner, The Beer Store beer garden, and West Sixth beer booths.

The music lineup is fantastic as usual, most of whom are local acts. Jaxon Swain of sonaBLAST! Records books the lineup and does so with great knowledge and experience in Louisville music.

The 2014 lineup includes Small Time Napoleon, The Debauchees, Nick Dittmeier, Kyle James Hauser and Billy Goat Strut Revue.

Lastly, though, is the act that creates the most anticipation: Shake Anderson, who is returning after last year’s mind blowing performance. Anderson, a multi-instrumentalist and producer has worked with musicians like B.B. King, Warren Haynes, Static Major, and Stevie Wonder. At last year’s NuLu Fest, Anderson brought Victor Wooten (named a top 10 bassist of all time by Rolling Stone and member of Bela Fleck & The Flecktones) and Steve Cropper (former member of Stax Records house band and former member of The Blues Brothers band) with him.

We do not know as of now who Anderson will bring with him, but he sure has us guessing.

NuLu Fest is a free event on September 27 from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m. on the 600-800 blocks of East Market Streets.
