This retrospective of the work of Louisville painter Mary Ann Currier will illustrate the continued vitality of realism in contemporary art, emphasizing the visual poetry in the artist’s large-scale still life paintings. The exhibition will also include examples of Currier’s early abstract and figurative works, along with drawings and photographs. The focus of the exhibition will be on Currier’s magnificent and meditative still lifes, which constitute her remarkable contribution to contemporary American realism.
