The long wait is finally over for Holiday World’s newest attraction: the Thunderbird roller coaster! As the amusement park’s first full-sized steel roller coaster and America’s first launched wing roller coaster, it has easily made it onto everyone’s summer to-do list. And the folks at Holiday World want to give their customers something a little more to go along with the thrill and excitement of their new roller coaster this summer, which is why they’ve teamed up with Prairie Farms to create the limited edition Thunderbird ice cream!
Why has Holiday World chosen to pair ice cream with their latest attraction? Because no matter how old you are, roller coasters and ice cream are American summer staples! And now you can experience the best of both at one of the country’s most family-friendly parks all season long.
“We sampled a lot of creative flavor combinations and ultimately decided Thunderbird Ice Cream should be a delicious combination of vanilla ice cream with loops of caramel and spicy ‘scorched’ pecans,” says Holiday World’s Vice President, Eric Snow, on the park’s collaboration with Prairie Farms.
The Illinois-based and farmer owned dairy company will stock the shelves of grocery stores in 27 states this summer with half-gallon sized cartons of the delicious new treat. These 27 states of distribution are located all along the east coast, the Midwest, and in the south. You can also try a scoop at Holiday World too, of course.
You can experience the thrill of going zero to 60 miles per hour in three seconds on the Thunderbird roller coaster and taste the scrumptious new ice cream at Holiday World and the Splashin’ Safari water park seven days a week starting this Wednesday, May 13th, with the exception of May 18-19 when the park will be closed to the public.
