Lost Love is a series of black and white hearts that create both drawings and installations.  Thousands of hearts accumulate to create shapes that are loosely based on constellation or galaxy formations.  Each heart represents lost or misplaced affection.  Unrequited love joins collectively to create an optimistic (imaginary) home for heartbreak; but these hearts do not break, they celebrate the act of projecting affection and trivialize the need for reciprocity.  The repetitive act of drawing hearts comes from adolescent ritual.  Drawing hearts, or writing a name over and over replaces the need for actual affection.  This cult ritual performed in the hope of receiving affection from the other satisfies romantic desires and replaces human contact.
