    The Purpose
    The Mint Jubilee is a Derby Eve fundraiser founded in 1997 to help fund cancer research and education.

    The Mint Jubilee Resource Center assists patients and families in dealing with physical and psychological challenges of cancer.The services provided in the resource center are among the best in the nation and are offered in a comfortable and private setting.Some of the services available are:prosthetic fittings, skin care, make-up (for scarring and radiation burns), wigs, customized information packets, support groups, counseling, and library and Internet access.

    Gilda’s Club of Louisville provides social and emotional support for those affected by cancer through a free, customized program of support and networking groups, lectures, workshops, social events, and unique activities.Gilda’s Club is a national organization created by the late comedian Gilda Radner.The mission of the organization is to provide meeting places where men, women and children living with cancer, and their families and friends, can join with others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care. Free of charge and non-profit, Gilda's Clubs offer support and networking groups, lectures and workshops and social events in non-residential
    homelike settings.

    The Event
    The 2005 Mint Jubilee is a black tie event that includes a red carpet entrance, a cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner, dancing, and the opportunity to mingle with celebrities, including Kentucky Derby Jockeys. The Mint Jubilee attracts many celebrities as well as media from all over the country. The 2005 honorary chairperson is actress Ashley Judd.Celebrities who have attended in the past include: Carson Daly, Chris McDonald, Melissa Joan Hart, Jerry O’Connell, Loni Anderson, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Prince Albert of Monaco to name a few.
    The Cost
    $300 per person.Tables of 10, special entertainment packages, and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
