Meet Maker's Mark's Greg Davis At Haymarket
    Print this page

One of the best things about Haymarket Whiskey Bar is that there’s something different and unique happening there every night of the week.  You like vinyl?  They have vinyl night every week.  You like dressing like a pirate?  They have pirate parties.  Arcade games?  They’ve got those, too.  But at its core, Haymarket is a whiskey bar.  Not a cocktail bar, but a whiskey bar, so naturally there are tons of bourbon-related events going on as well.

Once a month Haymarket hosts Master Distiller Nights.  Haymarket has hosted the well-known Master Distillers such as Jimmy Russell, but there are also lesser known and equally important guests from time to time.  This month’s guest is Greg Davis of Maker’s Mark.  According to the event page, “Maker’s Mark Director of Distillery Operations and Master Distiller Greg Davis has many responsibilities, but his most important mandate is: “Don’t screw it up.” To that end, from the selection of grains and overseeing milling, cooking, fermentation and distillation to taste testing the bourbon through its journey to maturity, Davis and his team are dedicated to ensuring that every bottle of Maker’s Mark and Maker’s 46 meets the high standards for quality and tradition set forth by three generations of Samuels’: Maker’s Mark Chief Operating Officer Rob Samuels, his father, Chairman Emeritus Bill, Jr., and his grandfather, Maker’s Mark Founder Bill Samuels, Sr.”

There is no cover charge for Master Distiller Night at Haymarket, and it’s a great opportunity to meet not only the people who make the bourbon industry happen, but also other bourbon enthusiasts.  Click here for more information about this event on April 20.
