When some people hear the words “big brother” they think totalitarianism with government surveillance and all-around Orwellian evilness. If you are not one of those people and instead you hear the words “big brother” and think of broadcast television, potential fame and the chance of snagging $500,000, then this is the opportunity for you.
CBS franchise “Big Brother” will be hosting an open casting call in Louisville on Saturday, April 14 from 1 to 4 pm at T.G.I. Friday’s (415 S. 4th Street). They are looking for outgoing, intriguing and competitive individuals “up for anything and everything.” In reality show speak that usually means forming alliances and stabbing people in the back. Occasionally, as witnessed by the above press photo, it also means playing a game show within a game show. Whoa!
If you’re not familiar with the premise, “Big Brother” takes a handful of strangers and isolates them in a home where cameras record their every move and sound 24/7. Contestants are evicted one by one through group and audience votes until one contestant wins the grand prize of $500,000. The upcoming season will be the show's 14th.
If you think you’re cunning and ruthless enough to win the game, mark your calendars and prepare your pitch. Eligibility requirements and applications can be found at cbs.com/bigbrother.
