Hold your own tournament with "NCAA March Madness 2006" by EA Games ($30), available for PlayStation 2 or Xbox. It’s an excuse for more betting pools, and a chance to take your team further in the virtual world than they might go in the real Big Dance. If you’re hosting a party with mixed team loyalties, you may want to dress in a referee shirt ($20 at Dick’s Sporting Goods) to keep the peace — or eject any unruly guests.
It’s not a bash without some booze, so why not make your drinks match the rest of the decor? Rick’s Ferrari Grille offers these recipes for those with blue or red running through their veins:
"Big Blue Madness"
• 2 oz. Stoli Razberi Vodka
• 1 oz. White cranberry juice
• Splash, Blue Curacao liqueur Shake with ice, strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
"Cardinaltini"
• 2 oz. Stoli Citros Vodka
• Splash, Black Duck Cranberry liqueur Shake with ice, strain into chilled martini glass. Add the juice of two lime wedges, and a lime wedge for garnish.
Get your house party-ready and team-appropriate with a U of L or UK pool table (approximately $3,000) from Louisville Billiard. The tables feature black rails with your choice of red, black or blue cloth and side panels decorated with official team logos. Carry the theme throughout the room with accessories like cue racks, cues, lighting and bar stools to match the eight-foot tables.
