Maker's Mark celebrated their 8 year anniversary Friday night. In an industry with a high turn over rate, this is quite the accomplishment. From the moment you walk in the door at Maker's, you are in for a special experience. Home to more than 60 different Kentucky bourbons, Maker's gives customers the experience of a big city lounges with southern inspired cuisine.

Friday night $50 got you in the door with free drinks from 9 to 11. Appetizers included mini hot browns, fried artichoke fritters, and a few others that were absolutely wonderful. The bartenders, some of the best on the street, kept my drink filled and provided great service.

While the price tag may seem a bit steep, part of the proceeds benefited the Louisville AIDS walk, which was this past Sunday.

Also adding to the unique experience, photographer David Toczko owner of Lone Dakota, was on hand signing his newest book The Ambassador of Bourbon.
