This month, Modern Louisville Magazine made its big debut at Play Dance Bar with drinks, a photo booth, and live entertainment hosted and put on by the engaging personality, Leah Halston. Halton put on a fabulous show that kept guests laughing and cheering late into the evening.
Though Kentucky has recently been cast in a bit of a homophobe-tinted limelight, the launch of Modern Louisville was colorful and celebratory. Modern Louisville's first issue has Bobby Petrino Jr. on the cover and features his heartwarming coming-out story as the featured article. The issue also includes "Leah Halston's Journey into Drag" among other compelling articles. Modern Louisville's goal is to give a voice to the LGBTQ community; according to publisher Tracy Blue, "every major city in the U.S. has done this so successfully, and we want to be a part of that movement--the movement toward equality."
Having Modern Louisville join the local publication family is a proud moment for the city. Be sure to catch them this weekend at the Inaugural Louisville Pride Festival.
