Selena Gomez packed the KFC Yum! Center with two opening acts, Bahari, out of California, and the Joe Jonas-led band, DNCE, known by their debut hit single, "Cake by the Ocean."  I attend a lot of shows and all of us from the venue to other media around me have seen "needs improvement" opening acts but last night was different. When Bahari came out and began singing we all quickly glanced at each other in surprise.  They are really talented. The crowd also recognized it and realized they may be witnessing the emergence of a future star group. DNCE then came out and simply nailed it. Putting on a high energy show more akin to a Louder than Life Festival performance -with much brighter clothing and without the heavy metal- they are a blast to watch.  I would also be surprised if DNCE did not continuing growing in popularity and even headlining large venues. Finally, Selena came out around 9:30 pm initially silhouetted behind a screen to an interlude version of Revival then was quickly joined by a group of high energy dancers for Same Old Love and Come and Get iI.  It was a show full of pyrotechnics, great choreography and music. With the enthusiastic mood of the fans she could have come out with the house lights on and sang a cappella and the crowd still would have loved it.  It was a hot night but the three acts did not disappoint in launching a great summer of music here in the 'Ville.
