The Winthrop Eagles won in thrilling fashion Thursday night against Southern Methodist University. After trailing 1-0 throughout the game, Winthrop scored the equalizer in the 88th minute and held on through two overtimes before prevailing on penalty kicks 3-1.

The Big South champion Eagles have little time to celebrate however, as their reward is a date with the 10th seeded Louisville Cardinals. Winthrop will be facing a well rested opponent after the grueling double overtime win and traveling between Dallas, Rock Hill South Carolina and Louisville ahead of Sunday's game. The Cardinals, on the other hand haven't played since losing in the Big East Tournament to Marquette nearly two weeks ago. Big East defender of the year Andrew Farrell and company will be looking to return to their October form when they went undefeated (7-0-1) and won the Big East Red division.

The game is Sunday night, 7:00, at Cardinal Park 2100 South Floyd St. Admission is $7.00 for Adults, $5.00 for kids.
