Get ready, Louisville! One of America’s greatest live bands from the 1970s is about to take us all on a wild ride straight to the hard rock streets of Boston.

On Tuesday, June 30, Freedom Hall will welcome all of Louisville’s biggest classic rock fans for live performances by 1970s rock gods Boston and 1980s rockers Night Ranger. It’s sure to be a night all fans of '70s and '80s music will not want to miss.

Audience members will witness the musical talents of all living original members of Boston, along with the group’s new lead singer, Tommy DeCarlo who joined the band in 2007 after Boston’s original lead singer, Brad Delp, committed suicide in his New Hampshire home.

North Carolina native DeCarlo had grown up as a Boston fan and had covered several of the band’s songs as lead vocalist. With the age of social media in full swing, he began posting his covers on his MySpace page and sent one to the band on a whim. Once the remaining members of Boston heard DeCarlo’s covers, they immediately noticed the eerie similarities between DeCarlo’s voice and the late Brad Delp’s. After getting in touch with the DeCarlo soon after, the remaining members of the band invited DeCarlo to perform with them at a concert honoring the late singer, “Come Together: A Tribute to Brad Delp.”

Shortly after his impressive performance, the band offered him the permanent gig of lead vocalist for Boston, and DeCarlo quickly became one of the biggest success stories of the century.

DeCarlo and Boston will be performing the band’s greatest hits, including their chart-toppers “More Than a Feeling” and “Don’t Look Back.” Night Ranger will be performing its greatest hits, including one of the best karaoke-worthy ballads of all time, “Sister Christian.”

The show is for all ages and starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday night. Tickets can be purchased online
