Louisville quarterback Will Stein suffered a left ankle sprain in last week's season-opening win against Murray State, but it won't keep him sidelined against Florida International Friday night.
"Will will be ready to go play, so there's no concern with his ankle at all," U of L head coach Charlie Strong said.
Senior receiver Josh Bellamy, who had four receptions for 37 yards against the Racers, is day-to-day with a hamstring injury.
"Hopefully by game time, we'll be able to get him back on the field," Strong said.
The main challenge facing the Cardinals will be containing FIU senior receiver T.Y. Hilton, the 2010 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year.
In the Panthers' 41-16 win over North Texas last week, Hilton tallied 283 total yards on offense - 92 of those on kick returns.
"We kick him the ball, we still have to go down and cover on kicks," Strong said. "If he catches that ball, he's very dangerous on returning it."
Strong said the defense won't employ any changes when covering Hilton.
"We're going to play man coverage," he said. "We're not going to back away from what we're doing."
The game is slated for 7 p.m. at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and will be televised on ESPN.
