You can get anything you want on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 8pm when legendary folk singer, Arlo Guthrie takes a break from his Lost World Tour to join the Louisville Orchestra at the Louisville Palace for a night to be remembered.

Guest Conductor John Nardolillo will lead the Orchestra in Aaron Copland's Appalachian Spring. Then humorous, gentle natured Arlo takes the stage with the Louisville Orchestra.  While it may seem odd to have a folk singer playing with a classical orchestra, Guthrie has been performing with symphonies for a decade, proving his music transcends eras and genres.  Guthrie's most recent release, In Times Like These, was recorded with the University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. William Ruhlmann's review of the album in All Music Guide says "James Burton's arrangements of (Guthrie's) songs do put an orchestra through its paces, drawing out their melancholy moods."

We don't know if Arlo will sing about the 27 eight-by-ten color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one, but we are sure all who attend will have an evening of great music.

Tickets range from $25 - $70 and are available by calling (502)361-3100
or by logging on to www.louisvilleorchestra.org.
