    • "The National Weather Service storm survey crews have confirmed at least four tornados struck parts of Louisville [Wednesday night. The first tornado struck around 8 pm last night, and Meteorologist Ted Funk says it was the most significant." [WFPL]
    • "Churchill Downs officials announced that racing would resume at the track with Friday’s “Downs After Dark” night racing program on Friday, June 24.  The first of “Downs After Dark” races is scheduled for 6 p.m., and admission gates will open at 4 p.m. Racing and training at the track had been cancelled on Thursday."     • "The Louisville Metro Council Thursday night approved an amended ordinance governing the sale and possession of fireworks in Jefferson County...Under a new state law that went into effect June 8, more powerful fireworks such as bottle rockets, fire crackers and roman candles can now be sold in Kentucky. The measure passed by the council initially began as a ban on the newly allowed fireworks but it was overhauled last week in the council’s public-safety committee." [Courier-Journal]
