Mayor Greg Fischer has named a committee of seven local experts who are set to begin a nationwide search for Louisville's new director of the Public Health and Wellness Department.
"As I said in my inaugural address, one of my chief goals is to make Louisville a healthier city - and that starts with finding the best person in the world to lead the city's health department," Fischer said.
The committee includes Mayor Fischer's Chief of Community Building, Sadiqa Reynolds; Louisville Board of Health Chairman, Bill Altman; Louisville Family Health Centers Director, Bill Wagner; UofL School of Public Health and Information Sciences Dean, Richard Clover; UofL Department of Psychiatry professor, Dr. Allan Tasman; Smoketown's Bates Memorial Baptist Church Pastor, F. Bruce Williams; and Louisville Metro Human Resources Director, Kellie Watson, or her designee.
Mayor Fischer is hoping to see Louisville's new Public Health and Wellness director named as soon as possible. While the committee will be advertising nationally for the position, if you are local and qualified, you can apply for the position via Louisville Metro's Human Resources Department.
