It’s that time of year again: Spalding’s Master of Fine Arts in Writing students are coming to campus for the 10 intense days that they do a semester. And Spaulding’s Festival of Contemporary Writing is this week’s top arts pick.

The Festival hosts local and national writers to read from their works. The writers run the gamut from Robert Moresco, co-writer of the Academy Award winning screenplay Crash to Spalding’s own Associate Program Director, Kathleen Driskell, who will be reading from her book of poetry Laughing Sickness. The event goes all week with the exception of Friday and is packed with writers from all different types of genres. Saturday rounds out the event with readings held by MFA Alumni at the Egan Leadership Center Lectorium at the corner of Breckinridge and Fourth Streets.

Some events will be held at the Gallery on the 16th floor of the Brown Hotel and all events are free so you have no excuse not to go. For a complete listing of the readings, go to www.spalding.edu/mfa.
