Legend Series at Derby Museum to Feature Chris Morris

The Kentucky Derby Museum’s Legends Series, hosted by Bourbon Authority Fred Minnick, is happening again on April 15th.  We all know the month leading up to Derby is full of great events, and this promises to be one of them.

This journalistic-style Q&A session is led by Fred Minnick, author of Whiskey Women and legend in his own rite.  This time around, Minnick will be interviewing Chris Morris, Master Distiller of Woodford Reserve.  Morris is a Louisville Native whose mother and father both worked at Brown-Forman.  He began his own career at Brown-Forman in 1976 in the Central Lab.  Over the course of his career he has managed Whiskey Brands, developed Bourbon Portfolios, and has served as a global Bourbon Brand Ambassador.

In 1997 he began training to become the 7th Master Distiller of Brown-Forman.  He also serves as Woodford’s Brand Ambassador.  This is the guy whose name is on all the bottles.

If you love Woodford, bourbon culture, and history, you won’t want to miss this event.  Also included in the event is a tasting of Woodford products: Woodford Reserve Distillers Select, Woodford Reserve Double Oaked, Woodford Reserve Classic Malt, and Woodford Reserve Straight Malt.  If you think all Woodfords are the same, I encourage you to try them side-by-side.

When you attend this event, you can also purchase a collectable bottle of Woodford Reserve (which Louisville readers told me was their #1 favorite bourbon), engraved with the Legends Series logo and date.  It is recommended that you buy this bottle in advance, since quantities are severely limited (click here to buy).

Click here to purchase tickets to this event.  I recommend buying them early as they usually sell out quickly.
