Though it's been held in several major cities across the United States, the Lebowski Fest was founded in Louisville, which is why it’s fitting that it celebrates its 10th anniversary here as well.

Traditionally the festival lasts two days and kicks off with a slew of bands followed by a screening of the cult classic, The Big Lebowski.

    THURSDAY

However, this year’s festivities kick-off tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 with a pre-festival party on Baxter Ave. Wicks will host The Dude’s Abide, where Tom Esterline and Jeffrey Faith will play the entire Lebowski Soundtrack, followed by a free costumed parade which will kick off at Wicks at 9 pm.

    FRIDAY

Friday’s events get started at noon, with The Lebowski Live Lunch on 91.9 WFPK (619 S. Fourth St.) with live music by Louisville rock ‘n’ rollers, The Broken Spurs. Listen live or stream online at WFPK.org. Free. Limited seating available.

At 4 pm, the official movie pre-game and tailgate party is scheduled to get going on the Executive Lawn (911 Phillips Ln.). BYOB.

The official Movie Party will start at 8 pm with music by J Roddy Walston & The Business and The Broken Spurs, followed by a screening of The Big Lebowski ($15 tickets in advance, $18 D.O.S.).

SATURDAY - All events at 911 Phillips Ln.

The party gets started with the Lebowski Podcast Meetup at 3 pm followed by a 4 pm Garden Party ($12 tickets in advance, $15 D.O.S.) with music by Those Darlins, The Seedy Seeds, How I Became the Bomb and The Junk Yard Dogs. Plus, Lebowski themed games like Ringer Toss and Marmot Fling.

The Bowling Party ($25 tickets in advance, $30 D.O.S.) is to follow with an 8 pm start time. The party will include bowling, costume and trivia with special guest Lliam from The Big Lebowski. Tickets are limited.

Lastly, Jackie Treehorn’s After Party will start at midnight with music by the Health & Happiness Gospel Band and DJ Jason Clark Nerd Dance Celebration. Admission is free.
