As runners push through the 13 or 26 miles of the Kentucky Derby mini-marathon and marathon, Louisvillians will be forced to push through traffic. If this is your first spring in Louisville, take heed of road closures.
Starting at 7 a.m. road most of the marathon road closures will begin and Iroquois Park will close for the remainder of the day. Cross traffic will be allowed at all intersections when it will not affect the race, according to the Kentucky Derby Festival. Adjacent streets to road closures may also be affected.
