Presented by Fischer’s Big Grillers and Kroger, Louisville's next great event will take place Friday through Sunday, August, 29, 30 and 31, taking the place of Rock The Water Tower which enjoyed a phenomenal 23- year run.
“We had a great time with Rock the Water Tower focusing on oldies music for over 20 years and contemporary rock the past three years,” says Jennifer Washle, Manager of Promotions for the Bisig Impact Group. “But recently we have been getting a lot of requests for a country music event and so we decided it is time to give it a shot,” adds Washle.
At Kentucky Country Jamboree the headliners each night will be natives of Kentucky Friday night’s headliner will be J.D. Shelburne, a country crooner and master at mixing mainstream country with a dose of southern rock. He is a recent winner of the Colgate Country Showdown and has opened for many famous country stars from John Michael Montgomery to Juice Newton. Saturday night will feature Artie Dean Harris, known for his honky-tonk style and songs like “What’s in Her Genes” and “The Tractor Factor.” Sunday night’s headliner will be Johnny Berry and The Outliers, well known for their homegrown authentic country music.
The festival’s other features will also have a true country flavor. There will be a pig roast, “Duct Tape Olympics” where participants can create an object with duct tape for a prize, the “Fischer’s Big Griller Hot Dog Eating Contest”, a chainsaw carving exhibition and the popular game, Corn Hole.
