Jennifer McCormick will lead a guided tour through 30 acres of the Woods of Locust Grove this Sunday, September 9. All interested participants should meet at the Visitor’s Center; the tour will begin at 1:15 p.m. Learn about native species to the area, as well as those introduced by settlers as you travel through one of Louisville’s historic landmarks.
On top of special tours, Locust Grove also offers daily tours every hour, beginning at 10:15. The last tour runs at 3:15. On Sundays, tours begin at 1:15, 2:15, and 3:15. Upcoming events at Locust Grove include a chat with federal-era doctor Albert Roberts about 19th century medicine on Saturday, September 22nd, and the Fall Antiques Market on September 30. Locust Grove’s Afternoon Lecture Series continues on October 3, featuring Estill Curtis “Buck” Pennington’s presentation of “Dancing on the Frontier: the Stylish World of 1812.”
