We see you appreciate a good vintage. But there comes a time to try something new. Click here to head over to the redesigned Louisville.com. It's where you'll find all of our latest work. And plenty of the good ol' stuff, too, looking better than ever.

    Bit to Do

Jeffersonville, Indiana is starting to stand out and is quickly becoming less mysterious to Louisvillians now that we can take a leisurely walk across the Big Four Bridge. While the finishing touches of the plaza area surrounding the Indiana end of the bridge are still in the works, now is the perfect time to visit and explore.

Head east along Riverside Drive to RiverStage, with a full slate of concerts; a summer evening movie series; food festivals, including the Smokin' on the River BBQ, Blues and Brew Fest; and free workout classes. The terraced lawn seating provides a great view of the Louisville skyline, whether a show is on or not. Head west along the riverfront walkway (beware the goose poop) and get a close-up look at construction of our NEW BRIDGE! Not too long from now, you'll hardly remember what it looked like when it was just getting started.

    Bridge Construction

Fun and funky bike racks, big gardens and lovely houses make for a great stroll around the neighborhood. Found this Little Free Library, too.

Jeff is working on a Restaurant Row on Riverside Drive (the sign's already up), and it looks like it'll curve around and down Spring Street, with all the new spots opening near a couple of long-standing favorites. Olive Leaf Bistro has a large Mediterranean menu, including lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. Make your way here for the huge outdoor covered dining patio overlooking the river. Cluckers is a more casual choice, also with riverview seating, or turn the corner onto Spring Street, where you'll find the classic Come Back Inn offering superb Italian-American dishes (if the special is the fried wonton appetizer, get it) and a cozy atmosphere.

Big Four Burgers and Beer is working out the kinks and building a loyal clientele for dinner or drinks. Match Cigar Bar is going for the swanky feel (can't stand cigars but I peeked in the window and saw the expected manly leather chairs and low lighting). Like to keep it moving? Just a minute's walk or so away is Red Yeti Brewing Company, freshly opened and with its eye on local craft beer fans. Around the corner on West Court, don't skip Adrienne's for lunch or dessert. Plop down on the red velvet couch with a cupcake and marvel at the photos of the masterfully decorated cakes the bakery creates every day.

Before you head back to Louisville proper, spend at least a few minutes in one of the area's happiest places: Schimpff's Confectionery. Check the hours, because it doesn't stay open all that late, and you cannot miss the candy-making demonstrations, jam-packed candy museum and a bite at the soda fountain and deli. Guaranteed to improve your mood.
