School’s out on Saturdays, but there is plenty of fun, free learning to be had at the market in Jeffersontown this Saturday, September 22. The Jeffersontown Farmers’ Market wants to encourage kids and their families to meet the farmers and learn something new tomorrow morning starting at 9am.
There will be all kinds of free activities, including an interactive barnyard exhibit, grabbing some healthy cooking tips from Chef Nancy, “milking” a replica cow courtesy of Kentucky Kate, and being reminded of the choice to not use drugs with the D.A.R.E. program. While you meander around the market picking up all sorts of fresh goodies, kids can also meet with officers from the Jeffersontown Police Department and the Jeffersontown Library will be there as well. My family has enjoyed this farmers’ market all summer and I encourage you to visit and support them!
School Days at the Market will run until 12pm. The Jeffersontown Farmers’ Market continues each Saturday from 8am-12:30pm until October 27. You can also pick up some fresh foods on Tuesdays from 3-6:30pm.
