Lehigh Valley rallied for five runs in the seventh and eighth innings to beat the Louisville Bats 8-4 Thursday afternoon in Allentown, Penn.

The Bats (17-24) out-hit the Iron Pigs 10-8, but Lehigh Valley rode a pair of three-run home runs to end Louisville's three-game win streak.

The first of those big flies, by Cody Ransom, came in the bottom of the first inning off Bats starter Chad Reineke.

Louisville, which had scored one in the first, added single runs in the fourth and fifth inning to tie the game at 3. Wilkin Castillo's third homer of the season evened the score.

However the Iron Pigs answered with two runs in the bottom of the seventh off Bats reliever Ben Jukich (1-3).

Louisville responded with one run in the eighth - on Chris Burke's RBI-single - before Lehigh Valley's John Suomi's three-run homer in the bottom of the inning off Federico Baez.

Drew Carpenter (4-4) picked up the win for the Iron Pigs (16-24), yielding eight hits and three earned runs over seven innings.

Ten Bat batters had a hit, but no one had more than one.

The two teams finish off their four-game series at 7:05 p.m. Friday night at Coca-Cola Park.
