Interapt was formed in May 2011 by Ankur Gopal in this Midwest city of Louisville, KY. Over the past four years, Interapt has made big leaps and appears to be on a promising road onto even bigger accomplishments. I sat down and spoke with Gopal about the company and some of its achievements.

Gopal stated that he formed Interapt from a “love of gadgets, new technology, and business” with the purpose of utilizing technology to transform business operations in this ever-changing technological world. However, Gopal did not intend or expect the business to become what it is today- a role model to other startups. Gopal mentioned that Interapt has formed a “very strong liaison between Silicon Valley (a world-recognized technological hub in California) and Louisville.” Interapt is a proud partner of Google Glass as well as Sales Force and other large, confidential companies in Silicon Valley, developing various mobile applications and Google Glass applications. These partners “are impressed with what Interapt is trying to build in Louisville, and they want to see Interapt grow.”

Not only is Interapt working with out-of-state companies, but they are also being recognized by companies within Louisville. These companies have seen Interapt prove itself as a “strong partner to Silicon Valley firms with clients who know that they’re getting quality innovation from Louisville.” Consequently, these local industries in Louisville are recognizing what Interapt can do and how their work in technological development can be used to improve the quality of their job and ultimately, their business. One such example can be seen in Healthcare, where Interapt’s work in IT solutions will be “game-changing” and could result in the “transformation of how these billion-dollar companies are doing business.”

Gopal emphasized that Interapt is the kind of company that Louisville needs, that every state needs. Interapt represents the fact that other startup companies can “be taken seriously by the top people in the tech world” and that they can succeed and make a difference. It has taken a lot of hardwork and patience for Interapt to get to where it is today, and this year, Interapt has been awarded the worldwide 2015 Gartner’s Cool Vendor Award for Digital Services. Gartner was impressed with the work that Interapt does, the clients that they serve, and the problems that they solve. Other successful businesses that have been recipients of this award include Lyft, Instagram, and Twitter.

Interapt is preparing the “next generation workforce” to have the ability to work with computers, programming, and the latest technology as technology continues to “touch all aspects of life.” Interapt is creating opportunities to generate wealth and to reinvest it into the community to maintain a sustainable economy. Looking at the wide range of possibilities of Interapt’s future, Gopal stated that “we like the direction we’re going, and we’re excited about the team we have and the work we’re doing. There will be big announcements coming within the next few months.” Visit their site for more information on Interapt.
