    COUNTER CLOCKWISE CONCRETE VANITY TOP
    Concrete craftsman Pete McGeeney of Counter Clockwise turns ho-hum concrete into one-of-a-kind kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities and tables. Shown above is a 2-by-3?-foot gold-toned vanity top with integral sink inspired by a wall covering. Artist Alex Taylor hand-painted the branches using an acid stain and created the blossoms with small white pebbles.

    Add sparkle to your kitchen or bath with a solid glass countertop from the VitraMax Group. Available in bronze, gray, blue or clear (with a natural greenish cast) in two styles — bubbly Boulder (shown) and clear Aspen — the tops can be fabricated in any shape or size up to five by 10 feet. The inch-and-a-half-thick glass is rated to absorb 2,500 pounds of force without breaking and stands up to high temperatures. Custom embossed designs, painted and metallic leafed undersides, and dichroic versions are available for an additional charge.

Details such as wrought-iron hooks, distressing and antique painted finishes give these custom creations a cozy, vintage feel.

    TRUROCK GRANITE VANITY TOP
    TruRock offers natural granite and marble tops for your bathroom vanity for as little as $28 a square foot — about half the cost of most custom granite. The company’s secrets: direct importing and a limited line of seven granites — Verde Ubatuba, Black Pearl, White Pearl, Leopard Skin, Sienna (shown), Leopard and Santa Cecilia — and three marbles — Thassos, Desert Creme and Verde Oriental. Tops are available in any length, starting at 31 inches; come with your choice of a white, bisque or black undermounted china bowl; and take four to five days to fabricate.
