With Christmas rapidly approaching and the mall becoming a nightmare, Thanksgiving to Christmas feels like running with the bulls in Pamplona. While you’re decking your halls, hearing those sleigh bells jingling and preparing your home for this holiday season, now is the time to remember all of those who are not as fortunate. During this season family becomes the focus and most of us are fortunate enough to have enough to provide a great holiday for our friends and family.
One of my favorite ways to give back is through operations like the Angel Tree. Each year the Angel Tree gives thousands of local family’s assistance during this holiday season. WHAS is a huge sponsor and sets the tree in varies places such as the malls to inspire shoppers to pick up a little something extra for local children, while they are out. In order for the tree to be successful these “Angels” are relying on the Louisville community for help.
The children don't ask for much, usually warm clothes and toys. For these kids, “Santa” comes in the form of generous strangers who are willing to give back.

If you want to adopt an angel, you have until Dec. 11 to do so. They can be adopted at any of the five Angel Tree locations -- Oxmoor Center, Mall St. Matthews, Jefferson Mall, Green Tree Mall and Wal-Mart in Corydon, Indiana
