Jan. 5-6. Beat the cold by heading underground to cozy up at The Jazz Factory (815 W. Market St., 992-3242) for the return of native son jazz pianist David Leonhardt. During the late ’70s Leonhardt was a regular performer in Louisville, but then made the leap to New York City, establishing a name for himself by playing with the “Fathead” Newman Quintet. Other feathers in his cap include writing arrangements for the Art Blakey Big Band and serving as guest conductor and arranger for the Benny Carter Orchestra. For this show Leonhardt will be handpicking a rhythm section of old acquaintances from the local jazz scene. $12.50. 7:30 and 9 p.m.
