To give tribute to the New Albany troops deployed during the holidays, the New Albany-Floyd County Public Library is partnering with the VFW to provide telephone cards to the soldiers. The cards will enable the troops to call home. The national VFW office has made the Library a site to offer informational brochures and envelopes for purchasing the cards.  Donations made to the VFW are the better choice than buying retail calling cards because the soldiers get more minutes through the national VFW purchased cards.

Help make the soldiers’ holidays happier by showing the troops you are thinking about them. Support our American heroes by giving them the joy of talking to their loved ones while they are far away from home.  Contact the VFW office on Grant Line Road at 944-1379 or the VFW canteen 945-2024 to make donations to the “Holidays for the Soldiers” program, or pick up your donation envelope at the Library.  Please give your donations before November 17th in order for the soldiers to receive their telephone cards before Thanksgiving and Christmas.
